Premium Times reports that the deceased were the wife and four children of a former chairman of the traders union of Birnin Kebbi central market, Dandare Maibulawus. According to Maibulawus’ brother, Ibrahim Shehu, the killing occurred around 4:30am when the unknown assailants stormed his brother’s house at Bayan Kara’a suburb in Birnin Kebbi. Shehu added that his brother travelled to Cotonuo, Benin Republic, when the tragic incident occurred. He also urged the local people to report any suspicious movement of people around the area. Meanwhile, Atiku Bagudu, the governor of Kebbi state, has he paid a condolence visit to the family of the deceased. He described the killings as “sad, bad and a dastardly act” and tasked the security agents to intensify investigation and search for the suspects.
